State of Wyoming wins FacilityForce’s 2025 Steve Deines Achievement Award.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Austin, TX – 6/3/25: FacilityForce is pleased to announce the State of Wyoming State Construction Department as the recipient of the 2025 Steve Deines Achievement Award, presented at this year’s NASFA National Conference. This distinguished award honors organizations that have achieved transformative outcomes through the strategic use of FacilityForce’s integrated solutions — and Wyoming has done just that.

Over the past year, the State Construction Department has revolutionized how it plans, maintains, and invests in public infrastructure. With a sweeping facility condition assessment effort spanning 48,000 individual assets, 3.8 million data points, and 50,000 supporting photographs, the department has laid a new foundation for asset intelligence and long-term stewardship. This modernization effort wasn’t just about collecting data — it was about turning insight into action.

Central to Wyoming’s success was its embrace of the FacilityForce Condition Assessment Spectrum, a framework that defines levels of assessment maturity from basic visual checks to fully strategic planning. Historically, Wyoming operated with static FCI scores based on cost models that lacked regional accuracy and excluded critical systems. Now, the department has advanced to the strategic end of the spectrum — conducting comprehensive assessments down to subsystem levels, aligning facility condition data with real-time planning tools, and dynamically updating scores as deficiencies are resolved or emerge.

By achieving this level of assessment maturity, the State of Wyoming has transformed its facility management philosophy. Maintenance planning is no longer reactive or siloed. Instead, Wyoming is now able to forecast future system needs, justify funding requests with confidence, and coordinate efforts across districts and agencies using standardized asset codes and regionalized cost data. The ability to track Expected Useful Life, Remaining Useful Life, and condition trends empowers leadership to plan capital projects with precision and transparency.

The impact of this work ripples beyond internal operations. Facilities and capital project managers, executives, and district teams alike now benefit from a centralized, reliable view of infrastructure health. The integration of assessment data with the FacilityForce Operate platform enables smarter budgeting, more effective communication, and timely interventions that extend asset life and reduce long-term costs.

FacilityForce is proud to recognize the Wyoming State Construction Department for its bold leadership and data-driven innovation. This award reflects their commitment to improving government operations, enhancing transparency, and setting a new benchmark for how states can manage the full lifecycle of their facilities.

Congratulations to the entire Wyoming team for this well-earned recognition.
