Microsoft

In an effort to improve security, Microsoft announced that its Exchange Online email server will not support basic authorization after Oct 1, 2022. Read more about that change HERE.

FacilityForce has modified v13.1.0 of its Operate and Engage products to support the OAuth 2.0 token-based authorization that is compatible with Microsoft Exchange.

In addition, a v13.0.1 patch is scheduled to be released prior to October 1, 2022. The v13.1.0 version is scheduled to be released on October 26, 2022. To understand how this will impact you as a customer, the following considerations come into play.

Hosted Customers:

Hosted Customers are either already using or may use an email server that will continue to support basic authorization after October 1, 2022 and are therefore not affected. FacilityForce Technical Services will audit the email server configurations of hosted customers and contact customers if a change is necessary.

Self-Hosted Customers:

Self-Hosted Customers should examine their email server configuration in Operate and Engage and consult with their internal technical resources to determine the best path forward. For those customers whose email service is Microsoft Exchange Online, upgrading to Operate and Engage v13.0.1 or v13.1.0 will be necessary to avoid interruption in email services. FacilityForce is available to be part of that conversation if necessary.
